Estrology: December 2014

By Esther Frances

This month’s theme: Redeeming the Dark, Birthing the Light – in honor of the Winter Solstice taking place on Sunday, December 21st.

Dark has been the repository of the projection of what we have collectively deemed bad, unethical, frightening or lacking in integrity. I propose we redeem the dark by becoming aware of how we have been “programmed” to distort our experience of the dark, so that we can shift away from being manipulated by fear into being empowered by awareness.

The projection that uses the word dark as an all-encompassing term for what is “not good” is differentiated from the term dark when it is used to refer to that which is hidden, as in that which is kept “in the dark,” making sure that it can’t be seen for the purpose of concealing that it is not in harmony with the well being of those it is kept from. Weatherscapes Meditation

  1. Get relaxed and comfortable by either sitting up straight or lying down.
  2. Stay tuned in with your breathing.  Allow each breath to relax you further.
  3. Once you are in a very deep state of relaxation choose a date and a place you would like to visit.
  4. Set your intentions accordingly and then imagine that you are at this place during the chosen time and day whether it be past, present of future..
  5. Allow yourself to look around you.  Notice the details of the scene you have created.  Be aware of your surroundings ie: if you are indoors or outdoors, whether you can hear flowing water, trees, buildings etc. .
  6. Then look up and around and notice the weather conditions of that time and place by either looking out your window (if you are indoors in your vision) or find yourself outside where you can feel the weather. Notice the sky conditions, precipitation if any, winds and temperature.  Continue to be aware of the weather on your chosen date in your vision for a few moments.
  7. Once you are done come out of our relaxation and wake up and write down what you experienced in your journal.
